About Absolute Best Painting

Meet Vance & Rachel Terry

In 1997, Vance and Rachel Terry were starting a church in Colorado Springs. If you know anything about church planting, you know it does not come with a paycheck. The bills still showed up, and a growing family still needed to eat. So Vance picked up a paintbrush.

What started as a way to put food on the table while serving their community became a 27-year painting business built on the same values they preach on Sundays. Honest work. Fair pricing. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. Do not cut corners, even when nobody is watching.

Vance and Rachel have been pastors in the Colorado Springs area for three decades. They have been painting homes and commercial properties across it for just as long. That is what “bi-vocational” means in ministry: you serve the church and you serve your customers, and you hold yourself to the same standard for both.

Today, Vance still runs every job personally. He is the one on your property checking the prep, inspecting the lines, and catching the small things that most painters walk right past. Rachel runs the business side of things, handling estimates, scheduling, invoicing, and making sure you always have someone to call who will actually pick up the phone.

Our Mission

We exist to provide honest, detail-driven painting services to homeowners and businesses across Colorado Springs, and to do it in a way that reflects the values we live by every day.

That means giving you a fair price and sticking to it. It means prepping every surface properly, even the parts you will never see. It means showing up on time, keeping you informed throughout your project, and leaving your property clean when we are done.

Our goal is simple: walk away from every finished project knowing we did our absolute best. That is not a slogan. It is the standard Vance set in 1997, and it is the standard every member of this family holds themselves to today.

Our Core Values

Craftsmanship

A good paint job is not just about color. It is about the prep underneath, the products on top, and the eye that checks every edge before the job is called done.

Vance has spent 27 years training his eye to catch what others miss: a line that is not quite straight, a spot where primer did not bond, a section where the previous painter cut a corner.

That level of attention is not something you can rush or fake. It is the difference between a paint job that looks good on day one and one that still looks good in year five.

Integrity Without Spin

We do not inflate our bids with hidden fees, and we do not lowball to win the job and then tack on extras later. The number on your estimate is the number you pay. If we see something during your project that changes the scope, we talk to you about it before we do anything.

No surprises on the invoice. Period. If we say we are going to be at your property at 9 AM, we are there at 9 AM. If we say a project will take four days, we plan for four days. Integrity is not something we put on a website to sound good. It is how we operate when nobody is looking.

Honesty

Sometimes the honest answer is not the answer a homeowner wants to hear. If your siding needs to be replaced before it can be painted, we will tell you. If the color you picked is going to look different in Colorado’s sunlight than it does on the swatch, we will tell you that too.

We would rather have an uncomfortable conversation up front than leave you disappointed after the job is done. You are trusting us with your home. The least we can do is tell you the truth.

Faith-Guided Work Ethic

Vance and Rachel have been pastors in Colorado Springs for 30 years. Their faith is not separate from their business. It is the reason they hold themselves to the standard they do. When Vance finishes a job, he does not just ask whether the customer is happy.

He asks whether the work reflects who he is and what he believes. That might sound old-fashioned, but it is the reason this company has lasted nearly three decades in an industry where most contractors come and go within a few years.
