Epoxy Flooring, Concrete Coatings & Staining In Colorado Springs

Concrete floors in garages, basements, patios, and laundry rooms do the same thing over time. They stain, pit, crack, and collect a layer of dust that tracks through the rest of your house no matter how often you sweep. They are functional but they feel unfinished, because they are.

An epoxy coating, concrete coating, or stain changes that. It seals the surface, resists stains, cleans up with a mop, and gives the space a finished look that actually holds up to foot traffic, vehicles, chemicals, and Colorado’s freeze-thaw cycles. Absolute Best Painting installs residential epoxy floors, concrete coatings, and decorative staining across Colorado Springs.

Turn Bare Concrete Into a Finished Surface That Lasts

Residential Epoxy, Concrete Coating & Staining Services

We coat and finish concrete surfaces in garages, basements, porches, patios, laundry rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and foyers. We offer epoxy coatings in solid color, decorative flake, and metallic finishes, plus concrete coatings, decorative staining, and clear coat applications for outdoor surfaces.

Each option gives you a different look, and we will help you pick the right one based on the space, the traffic it gets, and the aesthetic you are going for. Every project starts with surface preparation. We clean, patch, and profile the concrete mechanically so the coating bonds at the molecular level.

A coating poured over a dirty or improperly prepared floor peels. That is not an opinion. It is the number one reason these finishes fail, and it is the step that separates a professional installation from a DIY kit.

Protection That Outlasts Paint

Home Epoxy Flooring Specialists

Garage floors take the worst beating of any surface in your home. Road salt, oil drips, tire marks, tool drops, and Colorado’s freeze-thaw cycle all eat away at uncoated concrete year after year. A properly installed epoxy floor resists all of that while making your garage easier to clean and more usable as a workspace, gym, or storage area.

But garages are not the only application. We install epoxy flooring in basements, laundry rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, foyers, and on porches and patios. Each space has different demands. A basement floor needs moisture resistance. A kitchen floor needs a surface that handles spills and regular mopping. A patio needs to stand up to UV and weather.

We select the product and application method based on how the space is actually used, not a one-size-fits-all formula. During your walkthrough, we will evaluate the concrete’s condition, discuss your options, and recommend the coating system that makes the most sense for your specific floor.

The Finish Your Concrete Was Missing

Concrete Staining & Clear Coat Services

If you want to enhance the look of your concrete without covering it completely, staining and clear coating are the way to go. Concrete stain penetrates the surface and adds color while letting the natural texture and character of the concrete show through. A clear coat on top seals the surface, adds sheen, and protects against moisture, stains, and wear.

This application is especially popular on outdoor patios, front porches, and covered entries where homeowners want a finished look that complements the surrounding landscaping and architecture without the solid-color appearance of paint or epoxy. Staining and clear coat work is dependent on the condition and porosity of the existing concrete.

New concrete accepts stain differently than old concrete, and previously sealed or painted surfaces may not absorb stain evenly. We test the surface during the walkthrough and let you know whether staining will give you the result you are expecting, or whether a different approach makes more sense.

See What Your Garage and Concrete Can Become

Most homeowners look at their garage floor or patio and just see concrete. Cracked, stained, and easy to ignore. But the right coating turns that surface into one of the most durable and best-looking areas of your home. Every epoxy, concrete coating, and staining project we complete starts with surface grinding, crack repair, and proper moisture testing before any product goes down.

Our Residential Epoxy, Concrete Coating & Staining FAQs

Each option serves a different purpose. Epoxy is the thickest, most durable option and works well for high-traffic indoor spaces like garages, basements, and kitchens. Concrete coatings are thinner and formulated for outdoor surfaces like patios and porches where UV resistance and flexibility matter more.

Staining adds color and character while keeping the natural look of the concrete, and is sealed with a clear coat for protection. During your walkthrough, we will assess your surface, discuss how the space is used, and recommend the right approach.

The final cost depends on the square footage of the floor, the condition of the existing concrete (cracks, pitting, and moisture issues all affect prep time), and the type of finish you choose. Solid color coatings are the most affordable. Metallic finishes are the most expensive. We provide a detailed bid after inspecting your concrete in person. Call 719-631-5658 to schedule yours.

A professionally installed epoxy floor in a residential setting typically lasts 10 to 20 years or more depending on the traffic it receives and how well it is maintained. Concrete coatings on outdoor surfaces typically last 5 to 10 years depending on UV exposure and weather. The key factor in longevity for both is surface preparation. If the concrete is not properly cleaned, repaired, and profiled before the coating is applied, the finish will peel regardless of the product quality.

Yes. Outdoor patios and front porches are some of the most common surfaces we coat with concrete coatings and stains. These surfaces are exposed to UV, rain, snow, and freeze-thaw cycles, so the product has to be formulated specifically for exterior use. We assess the concrete condition, test for moisture, and recommend either a concrete coating or a stain and clear coat depending on the look you want and the condition of the slab.

It depends on the condition of the existing coating. If the current floor is peeling, flaking, or poorly adhered, we will need to remove it before applying a new system. If it is still well-bonded and in reasonable shape, we may be able to scuff-sand the surface and apply a new topcoat over it. We will test the adhesion during your walkthrough and give you an honest assessment of what needs to happen.

Maybe. Stain needs to penetrate the concrete to work properly. If your patio has a previous sealer, paint, or coating on it, the stain may not absorb evenly or at all. We test the surface during the walkthrough to determine whether stain will give you the result you want. If the existing coating is blocking absorption, we may recommend removing it first or switching to a concrete coating instead.

Most residential epoxy and coating projects take 2 to 3 days, including surface prep, application, and cure time. You will not be able to walk on the surface during curing, which typically takes 24 to 72 hours depending on the product and conditions. For garage floors, that means your vehicles will need to stay out for a few days after application. For patios and porches, plan on keeping foot traffic off the surface until the coating has fully cured. We will give you a clear timeline so you can plan ahead.

Yes. We install commercial epoxy and concrete coatings in restaurant kitchens, warehouses, manufacturing plants, gyms, retail spaces, storage facilities, and more. Commercial epoxy projects start at $5,000.

Coatings That Perform Because the Prep Was Done Right

Why Colorado Springs Homes Choose Us for Epoxy & Concrete Work

Epoxy and concrete coatings punish bad prep work. Skip a step and the floor peels. Rush the cure and the surface scratches. Use the wrong primer on a moisture-prone slab and the whole system fails.

We have seen it on floors where homeowners hired someone cheaper and then called us to fix it. Absolute Best Painting does the prep the right way because there is no shortcut that does not cost you more later.
